Kratom Capsules: The Pros and Cons
When most first hear about kratom, they are likely to want to buy it in capsule form due to ease of use, like many other supplements commonly sold. While they can be good in some situations, for those who can either make tea or take the whole leaf, kratom capsules are unlikely to be a good choice for a variety of reasons.
Additionally, with a little bit of research, it becomes obvious that the price is very inflated in comparison to buying it in whole leaf or powder form. For those who choose this method, it is a good idea to make capsules oneself. Although there are downsides, there are benefits as well.
Ease of Use
While we do not condone the ingestion of kratom, one of the biggest benefits many have found is that they are much easier to swallow than the powder. Because of this convenience, many choose to use them as opposed to plain powder.
Because these kratom pills are highly inflated and often cost up to ten times more than the raw powder, those who are looking at kratom capsules for sale are much better off capping the powder themselves. This can be done either by hand or with a machine, and the gelatin itself can be bought in bulk at very low prices online.
There are a variety of downsides that come with this method, as stated, the biggest of these problems is price.
Adulteration and Legality
Additionally, some have reported that some, especially those sold at head shops, are adulterated with other unknown herbs which can cause allergic reactions and other problems. Because many have purchased kratom capsules at somewhat shady vendors, kratom, a medicinal plant, has been lumped in with a variety of state legislation targeting the use and sale of bath salts, which has had massive consequences for those who use these leaves medicinally for pain or for opiate withdrawal instead of more dangerous prescription drugs. Because of these factors, we do not support the sale of kratom capsules, however, we have no qualms with those who cap whole leaf for personal use if it helps them.
Bloating and Effects
Another interesting side effect that we have heard from those who take them is bloating. Because of the large amount needed to create a standard dose, one may need to ingest many in order to experience effects. Additionally, as they are made of gelatin which absorbs water, they expand within the stomach, they can cause cramps and general discomfort. While we don’t support this form of use, it is still certainly better than some other methods, such as smoking kratom.
Because they take a while to dissolve and be digested, using this plant in capsule form can delay the onset, increase the duration, and slightly weaken the kratom experience, making kratom capsule effects somewhat different than simply ingesting whole leaf.
Overall, for those who choose to take this plant medicinally, who can’t stomach the tea and can’t get down the plain leaf, they can be a good alternative. However, because of the legal hurdles that kratom is facing along with the ridiculous cost of most kratom capsule supplements, we won’t advertise any companies that sell kratom capsules or promote any kratom capsules. For those who choose to use these, we urge you to cap them at home manually or with a machine.
Before doing buying anything, it is a good idea to do your research on the company and read reliable kratom reviews. This will make your experience with kratom much more enjoyable.
